Microblading gone wrong? Promised amazing hairstroke brows and they look harsh, block colour or the pigment looks orange or pink when healed? Don’t worry, let’s get rid of the ink and get you back to ultimate brow goals ASAP!
Over the past few years the semi-permanent ink industry has literally blown up and there’s practitioners everywhere now, all offering to give you the best brows. So often though, they don’t deliver, either because of bad training, poor quality inks or simply not understanding exactly what you wanted, but like tattoos, these don’t have to be permanent!
This process works in exactly the same way as laser tattoo removal but in the eyebrow area. The laser breaks the ink up and your body then removes it afterwards. The darker the ink in the eyebrows, the quicker the process is. If your brows have a pink of orange tone to them, it’s because the inks have a high amount of metal in. When we laser these, the metal reacts to the laser, turning the eyebrows darker, before we can fully begin the removal process at the next session.
So, how many sessions to get gone?
This will depend on the type of ink used, scarring, depth placed into skin, any scarring and your own immune system. Brows usually take anywhere between 3-6 sessions to completely remove, however the amount you require will depend on what you want to achieve – some clients require just 75% removal to start again on their new brows!
What are the risks?
Check out the section on tattoo removal for general issues and reactions to laser. Specifically for the brows, in an ideal world, the remaining brow hairs would be shaved before – I have not met one person yet who wants to have this done, so we go slowly when lasering trying to avoid the hair as much as possible as this increases heat in the skin, which then amplifies the effects of laser more than necessary. Some people lose up to 20% of brow hair but this isn’t permanent and grows back.
The area will be swollen afterwards and needs to be kept clean and dry when healing over the next 7-10 days.
Right I’m in! How much is it per session?
Brows cost £85 per session or you can buy a course of 3 for £235
