Many of us out there are frustrated with the aging process and the agonising realisation that our once tight skin, is gradually getting looser. Criticising your lines smile lines that although they mean we have lived life and showed expression in our faces, we wish we could just get rid of them!
Fibroblast can be used literally anywhere on your body where there is loose skin or wrinkles and you want a tighten up from the nose to the knees (psstttt it also gets rid of those pesky skin tags and moles!) Wouldn't it be amazing to have tight fresh skin without using botox or harsher methods?
So, tell me girl, how does this work then?
A fibroblast device, also known as a plasma pen, looks exactly like that, a large pen! It has a disposable sterile metal probe attached to it which causes a reaction with the gases in the air, causing a little flash of plasma energy between the tip and the skin. This flash makes a mini- trauma which makes the skin tighten and lift immediately and there's a small carbon crust which stays for a week, whilst the skin continues to tighten and heal. Collagen and Elastin continue to be produced over the next 8-10 weeks.
For moles and skin tags, the plasma flash destroys the tissue, again, leaving a little carbon crust in it's place!

So how long will I be looking all crusty for?
The carbon crusts remain for about 5-10 days dependent on the area and your own body's healing reaction. You get given some barrier cream to use for a week and it's important to keep it clean and makeup free, as contrary to what other professionals advise, we need to keep the areas as intact, clean and dry as possible, so using makeup makes no sense whatsoever and screams infection) The crusts will flake off when they're ready so no picking! If you pull them off early, you risk a change in your skin pigment from lack of healing time but come on, we've done 3 lockdowns now surely you can deal with looking less than your best for a week to have that amazing new skin afterwards? You can also get some swelling in areas like the eyelids and under the eye, don't stress, it's temporary and will go down in a day or two, and I find ice helps!
Is this a one off thing, or?
This really depends on exactly what you want to achieve, alongside the severity of your challenge, and your body's own natural collagen production. It could be anything from 1 to 3 treatments but we talk about this at your video consultation.
Tell me the risks!
Generally, the only complications are swelling, the carbon crusts, and the risk of pigment changes if you've not been honest at the consultation stage about conditions, or if you pick the crust off early. There are some additional risk factors if you have certain medical conditions but this is all discussed in the consultation. Type 4 and 5 skin types can't have this treatment because of the risk to pigment.
The treatment can be uncomfortable so clients will need to purchase numbing cream to apply prior to their appointment
